BIO
Celebrated for her virtuosity, rich tonal palette, and deeply soulful performances, DRiN Elliott has distinguished herself as one of the most compelling and innovative musicians of her generation. Her signature style is profoundly influenced by jazz icons such as Erroll Garner, Chick Corea, Thelonious Monk, and Elvin Jones—all self-taught legends whose creative spirit lives on through her artistry.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, DRiN began teaching herself piano at the age of thirteen, with no formal musical training. She quickly expanded her skills to include organ and drums, performing in churches throughout her hometown. In 2004, she was accepted into Birmingham-Southern College—a prestigious liberal arts institution renowned for its dynamic music program—earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in composition in 2009.
Throughout her career, DRiN has demonstrated remarkable versatility. She served as pianist for her college jazz band and gospel choir, and was honored to perform as lead accompanist during a distinguished service for U.S. President Jimmy Carter, while serving as Minister of Music at the historic Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.
DRiN’s expansive musical journey has led to collaborations with an array of accredited artists across many genres. Her performance credits include work with The Jacksons (Jackson 5), Masego, PJ, Victoria Monét, Flatbush Zombies, André Cymone (Prince & The New Power Generation), Issam Alnajjar, Melissa Etheridge, Latin pop star Natalia Jiménez, chart-topping rapper Yo Gotti, genre-defying collective The Internet, bass legend Verdine White (Earth, Wind & Fire), disco icon Gloria Gaynor, and R&B powerhouses Musiq Soulchild, Eric Benét, and Angie Stone. She has also performed alongside jazz greats such as Bernard Wright, Nikki Glaspie (Beyoncé, Maceo Parker), Cora Coleman (Prince), Candy Dulfer (Prince), Kat Dyson (Prince), and the late Lucky Peterson. Most recently, she joined global pop sensation Zayn—of U.K. supergroup One Direction—on tour, further establishing her as a dynamic and in-demand performer. Her appearances span major platforms including MTV, Jimmy Kimmel Live, NPR Tiny Desk, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Vice TV, and the hit FOX television series 9-1-1.
As a recording artist, DRiN has released three solo projects—Abandon Me (2020), RnB Heart (2021), and Drinning (2022)—available on all major streaming platforms. She is also featured on Masego’s acclaimed Lady Lady album (2018).
DRiN Elliott’s renowned body of work reflects her unwavering passion for music and her dedication to authentic expression. Her mission is to create timeless, boundary-breaking music that unites cultures, inspires connection, and moves the soul.
